Life doesn't have to be complicated

The calendar says I am 70 years of age but my disposition belies that. Before I say anything else, I should let it be known that, several years ago, I contracted an autoimmune illness that affects my muscles and, consequently, my mobility. I can get around, with the aid of a walker, and I can care for myself. It just takes me a little longer to do things than it used to. And, if you've not already guessed, this health issue has done a number on my finances. Although I've managed to remain financially solvent, my "piggy bank" is a bit leaner than I'd like it to be. So why am I putting these "negatives" right up front? It's so I don't waste your time in reading further if this sort of situation frightens you or if it is not the sort of thing you care to deal with. If you're still reading this, that's great! So I'll go on to tell you a bit about myself. My philosophy is to never lose the "kid" in me but to also never lose the wisdom I've gained over the years. I believe life is what you chose to make of it and it's what a person has in their heart that's important; not what they have in the bank. I don't believe a relationship gives either partner the right to try to "mold" the other into someone they're not, that accepting and appreciating a partner's little idiosyncrasies should be part of the "glue" that binds, and that loving someone has lost it's true and intended meaning.
