Hi, My name is Bob. I’m divorced (10 yr), employed (happily), and have excellent relationships with my children (none living at home). I enjoy my work and get along with my co – workers very well. My job can be demanding at times (24/7 call) but also allows me a bit of flexibility in my schedule. I enjoy doing most of the normal activities. I don’t drink and have no problems with people who do as long as they are not sloppy drunks. I don’t smoke although I’m an ex – smoker who used to smoke three packs a day. I have learned to accept, maybe even enjoy the freedoms of single life but also feel as if something is missing and don’t believe I want to end up being a “single old man”. I am looking for a nice relationship with a woman who is relatively secure with her “self”. One that is not afraid to tell a man to hit the road if she sees red flags. It seems to me that dating can sometimes be awkward. When dating a woman, especially for the first time, I find myself feeling somewhat like a teenager once again. The big exception being that my age and the age of my date are not teen ages. So what is a forty something guy to do? Hold hands, not hold hands, kiss, not kiss. If I do, do I run the risk she will think I’m interested only in sex? If I don’t might I run the risk of her thinking I’m not interested? YYYUUUUCCCCKKKK!!!! This is worse than being a teenager!!!! At least when I was a teenager there was no doubt in the girls mind that I was interested and what I was interested in. And we both knew it! Seriously though, I am interested in having a good time with my date. Good conversation, easy feelings, and if things click that’s great and if they don’t that’s OK too because I at least have met another possible friend.
