Be Happy Anyway
When I was young I knew more than I know now. I knew what to say and when to say it; what to do and how to do it. But now that life has silenced my words and is demanding that I live the answers, I'm not as sure of the answers that I once knew when I was young.
When I was young I knew what I wanted and I knew how to get it. I continued to get it until I discovered that I might not have what I really wanted. Now that I know what I want I've learned that it is something that I can't get, but rather it is something given.
When I was young I would insist that summertime friends saw the same dragon in the clouds as I did. Now that I have focused past the clouds I have learned that true friends see the dragons that I cannot see and help to slay those that cloud my focus.
