been all over doing a little bit of everything this summer. My son graduated this spring. Now I have to live through my eldest daughters senior year.

Spent this evening explaining to two seventeen year old girls who have been friends since they were seven that boys then men will come and go in their lives but true friends are there forever and that no one is worth comming between that.

I would not be a teenage girl again for anything!! My aunt is here and i told her i don't remember ever being like that .... she laughed. She said she can rememeber me frequently getting up from the dinner table in a huff and racing to the phone and 'oh woe is me-ing' to my friends. I really don't remember that, lol

I am tellin' ya, I can make the crickets chirp faster than anyone, lol

I am tired and goofy and in a mood to babble and there's no one around!!! O woe is me, :P lol

Ahhhhhhhh ... Fall .... The moon was beautiful last night. 1a.m. Stepped outside for a minute the coyotes were howling and yipping away. Geese were all quiet and settled in on the water for the night. Climbed back in bed, talking to Tater and the geese got all riled up. Thinking the coyotes were a little closer than I thought? :_ I did get the cats in the house, lol just in case!

Hiked to my deer stand. Went 2 miles before I saw fresh tracks.

Not much left up here for deer. Drought left no blueberries, raspberries,

blackberries, hazel nuts, acorns or choke cherries. I wonder what will survive

the winter with no food stores or stores of fat. Been a few years since I saw

starving deer.

Sorry to hear that your food sources are down taters.....we're expecting another mild winter and plenty of food. However, we need the snow pack as we're a little short of water ourselves. Deer and elk crop this year should be good and carry over into next year. That delicate balance in nature.

Well let's see. The children, their friends and I went up Thanksgiving evening ... we (the children and I) shopped, cooked, baked, went on a horse drawn wagon ride Friday night and sang carols. Went to a couple of galleries and talked to the artists. We (Tater included) went bowling, layed in front of the fireplace and watched movies. Stood on the beach and gazed at the full moon, the aura, the reflection over the lake .... hmmmmm ???

I picked the girls up at school, drove through the snow and slush, turned onto our street, drove to the mailbox .... or where the mailbox should have been, looked around to make sure I was in the right spot across from my house, began to think I was in the twilight zone, began to wonder who stole my damn mailbox, then one of the girls spotted a small metal thing sticking about an inch out of the snow. My mailbox clip. The box is covered by at least a foot of snow. GRRRRRRRRR

Snow's not too deep here in Rochester but it's damn cold. We've had a layer of ice about 2 inches thick too, damn freezin rain. Lots of mixed precipitation here this year.

Bunkie, after the 14 inches of new snow that fell here Sunday on top of the 25-30 inches we already had, I have no idea where my mailbox is. I was going to have the plow man dig it out for me, but it is so buried I couldn't even tell him the area to plow. We have a good 30 inches on the ground with high drifts and HUGE banks. There is now place for the plow to push the snow to anymore. It is beautiful! Wisconsin under a blanket of snow in the sunshine is a beautiful sight

That's measured on the lutefisk scale by the way. LOL Tater thought I should point that out.

I finally dug myself out of the snow to sneak in here and wave...I hope everyone is doing well..

Swamper I have hardly seen summer! I have a 7 day a week schedule and 9-15 hour days. I had a day off early last month. Summer had just sort of passed me right by, lol

We've had a relatively cool summer down here, high 80's, low 90's, not too bad. Except when the humidity is high, then it's really "sticky". Of course, hurricane season is kinda tense, the storms are rolling through!! So far, so good...

Gotta' love the rain It's been raining since about 1am. We certainly need it. I woke up and it is beginning to smell like fall. Wish I could have lounged in bed for a while 5am is too early to get up on a Saturday!! People to see places to go and work to be done. Have a good weekend everyone!

I did start early. I was aching to see something green since we still have a couple of feet of snow and ice in the yard. The river in the back yard opened up for a few days. It is frozen over again today with the -8 we had last night. :P I had 29 tomatoes emerge in the last 24 hours. The lemon basil is staring to come up. Waiting for the eggplant and okra, they should be next to emerge.

Jim is out walking. He does between 5 and 7 miles nearly every day now. Trying to lose what he endearingly has named the Budda Belly. LOL He got a recipe for potato wine from a friend. I have a feeling he's not going to be able to resist and I will find a new batch of wine brewing when I get home from work.

I had better get changed and get to work.
