My brothers cat is all i can claim..... to many animals for me to have a cat... but wiskers is what he calls his new cat.... I would name my black something.... I love cats and regret when we moved to San Antonio leaving my cat Black Shadow in Laredo... It was in the 80's so I suppose he is long gone but when I finally get my own place I will get another cat... just adding my two cents.... Michael

Hi: I just joined your group. I love all animals and have 2 rescued cats. My calico is named Babycakes and my Tiger is Toonses. If anyone remembers 'Toonses the Driving Cat' from SNL way back when, that's who she is named after. She rode home from the shelter draped across my shoulders looking intently at cars next to us. Needless to say I received many strange looks.......I currently volunteer with out local animal shelter (no kill) and am in charge of applying for grants. If anyone knows of any grants out there for animals/shelters/education/spay & neuter PLEASE contact me as I'm finding out that grants for these areas are pretty rare. Any and all info would be so appreciated. Nice to find a group of cat lovers on a dating site! Pam

Welcome to mingles Pam!
Actually, this is my first post in groups so I'm not sure how this part works myself. I've had several cats over the years, most already came to me with names though. I would adopt them from friends/people who couldn't keep them. Last year I started working with a local rescue group and became a foster for cats. I took cats into my home and gave them food shelter and love until furever homes could be found for them. I had a great success rate but unfortunately I live with my parents and one of the cats I took in Peed all over the house this spring. We are still trying to get the urine smell out of the house, so mom won't let me foster anymore. I still go to volunteer meetings, participate in adoption events and occasionally help transport critters to vet.
Sorry I can't help you with grant information. I don't know a lot about the financial side of things. I know a lot of our food & cat litter is donated by different stores and our vets give us discounts on spay/nueter, vaccinations and sick pet treatments, but that is about it.

Posting in this group is new to me. I didn't realize so many people would reply. FAT GUY said his brothers cat was Wiskers.. Your brother and I must think alike. I named my cat Wiskers. He has very long whiskers and is simply regal. Walks and looks like Royalty.

Since my last post here, I've been helping a neighbor with some cats that were abandoned by a third neighbor......there's only 5 left now who regularly stop by for some eats.
They've been around long enough i started naming them.....
No clue what sex 4 of them are.

Hello everyone,
Just new to this group, assuming everyone loves cats...just did a feral trap-neuter-return program and kept 2 girls ( not that I needed any ) so I named them Willow and Iris ( because she has a rainbow of colors ) but it will be a while b-4 I introduce them to my boys, Loki, Artex and Sarmoti.
Hope everyone is having a good Friday!

My father was a purina certified small animal care provider for the dept of agriculture, taking care of the feds central farm animals here in the CDN nation's capital Ott. This along with several friends has me entering te cat people domain and Starfire I do remember the times in chat before ya were married,
