OK...I like to think I have an open mind, and I do believe in the unexplained, but sirously fokes...Ghosts? Look, this whole idea of the afterlife is based on 3 incorrect assumptions;

1 You can trust a phycic. They would never lie for a buck.

2 Most religions believe in some kind of afterlife. They can't ALL be wrong.

3 Those annoying light blobs(lens flares) that show up in film are really spirits trying to communicate!

Is all that PROOF that it's all hogwash? No. Lack of evidence isn't proof of anything.

The real interest here is the human mind. If you "believe", then the question is why do some people "see" these things and other's don't? Why are some minds closed, while others are open?

I have a friend who's a native American, and believes in spirit-visions. The concept is simple. If you see an animal where it doesn't belong(like a lion in your house), or a ghostly-looking beast, or one in the wild that just stares at you, you may be having a spirit vision. Supposedly, beings from "beyond" can't be seen, or communicate in the normal way, so they create a vision of something your mind CAN comprehend, like a wolf, or eagle. To read the vision, you must identify the strength of the animal.

For instance, a wolf has strength in numbers...An eagle can fly free, ect. You then use that "strength" to solve or face your problem.

That's positive, and can be helpful, but assuming it's your "Uncle Ned" floating overhead is like saying that funny light in the sky was(obviously) from Mars, and I SAW the little guy in the porthole! He was green, and had a carowy seed stuck in his teeth!

...And I JUST KNOW IT!

Ok Jeremy, then how would you explain wallpaper ripping itself off the wall, and a tidy kitchen during the day is in disaray in the morning, ..all cupboards open and the little standing stool moved?

And no, there were only 2 of us there, doors locked and were together all night, no chance the other had to do this themselves...

Oh, also, If spirits do come back, then I did see my great grandmother, ( a feeling more than a visual, minus a pre-dawn foggy luminescence) I woke in the wee hours before dawn and KNEW she was there, only problem was, she was alive.. I thought. I went to the hospital first thing just to say hi and check...I found her dead in the hospital bed and rig had set in, that means that she had been dead for a few hours...hmmm, there wa a 5 hour difference from when I saw her to when I found her. ( I was furious with the hospital staff..how could they not have known!!)

Belive it or not, Ghosts are real. If you can feel them or see them you should be lucky...

I cannot see them but I can feel them and I have a few stories of my own. I'll give you a quick one here, My and my (then) boyfriend had moved into a new apt and I had a statue of a burro that was sitting in the corner with a yellow bowl over it's ear and there was a bunch of boxes piled up in front of the stand that the burro was sitting on. There was no one else there and we were both sitting on the couch, we heard a noise coming from the corner and looked over there to see the bowl spinning on the burro's ear. We later found out that a young boy had been killed on the property where the apt building stands today. I have a son of my own and late at night I would hear a child screaming and crying but it sounded fainter then what it should have and I would get up to check on my son and he would be sound asleep. I got to the point that the crying was keeping me awake at night, I finally told the child spirit that I wasn't his mommy and that I couldn't help him and the crying stopped after that.
