Question of the day:
What job have you had that you enjoyed the most? What made it fun for you?

The biggest reward though, is influence. When you become an NCO and you're assigned Soldiers, in a military sense you become like the father (or mother) in a family...lol you teach these Soldiers how to become better Soldiers, you set examples for them to follow, correct them when they make a mistake...but all in all, if you're doing your job and doing it well enough, you lead Soldiers and they learn to appreciate that from you.

Then I became a "has-been"...or was that a "never-was-been?

The thing that gives me the most joy and is the most fun is earning the respect of those I work with, most of the time that I work for and always the ones that work for me. I have always floated to the top, because if you enjoy what your doing those you work for and with notice.

Though it is volunteer, being a soccer coach for several teams over the years has been a great experience. I love having the ability to change children's lives for the better through the coaching format. Encouraging discipline in both sport and school for these kids is very rewarding. I do wake up in the morning wanting to go to that job but it won't pay the bills.
Being a father of 2 is probably the best job of all. The opportunity to shape and mold my boys and see the transformations that take place is fanastic. I live to give those kids the opportunities that I never had.

I also had the most fun being a "snack bar attendant" at the local skating rink back home when I was 18. It was my very first job, and the best thing about it was I never had to pay for entrance fees, and I skated whenever I wanted...it was a blast.

I loved what I did in the Navy, can't talk about it much, but probably the absolutely hardest and most rewarding "career" I've had. I can't imagine anything being better (and I've done a few other things I've enjoyed, but not like that, lol). I did it for 12 years, stopped doing it in 1988 and I still miss it and just can't imagine my life being what it is today without that 12 years.
Other than that, I spent an equal number of years in the Food Service/Beverage industry as a chef and worked my way through the ranks where for 5 years "we" (a partnership" owned 5 "clubs" (from cigar/martini bar) to a fine dining establishment, also including a "family style" home-cooked food place and a country-western (HUGE) bar/dance hall
I loved that part of my life too............... but THAT industry will, very simply, KILL YOU, lol (no sleep, too many hours, no social life, bad diet - etc)

heh heh heh

CHARLIE MARKERS, I GOT CHARLIE MARKERS!!!!!

Damn Squids!!

MM (machinest mate) I can't remember - snipe??
(chef salad navy - they wore those special cammie uniforms so they could hide by the salad bar)
I was a CTI (languages) the captain was the marine version but was a "ditty-chaser" (manual morse intercept operator)
Yes, I remember the movie Red Dawn and at the time I was a latin-america "specialist" and cuba/russia was our biggest "target" (by trade) and it was VERY VERY realistic!
Ah well............. the memories; we had a "spook" reunion last weekend - only about 7 of us left from that "era" (of about 150 that we worked with)
6 showed, the only one that didn't was Montel Williams (yup, the TV guy) - he was our boss at NSA/FT.Meade from 85-88

Worst pay and hours but probably the most fun. Drive like hell and pick up tips. Nearly had my own store at one time. Got to meet some celebrities every once in awhile. Had two hookers that ordered regularly (Good tippers if the John's were buying...LOL)
Had my worst traffic accident during that time also. A passenger in the other car was killed, my head was split open and car was totalled. (Not my fault!!!!)
It was a fun time to be 20.

.Amateur Boob Inspector.....awesome job with many benefits. If you go pro it's like work, so I always stayed at the amateur level.....

You have to keep your sense of humor too.
