Is petite in the dating world synonomous with fat?

Can you be both medically and socially overweight and still be described as petite?

Is this a new trend to describe yourself as "petite" and weigh more than 150 lbs?

She describes herself as, "I'm very petite, caring AND sexy, 175 lbs, 34D, with long blonde hair and a fine and toned body, 5'3",," She seems nice and sincere,,but really, can a 5 foor three inch girl be petite. toned and 175 pounds? I mean...I weigh 185,,so am I off track here? I think I'm getting way too superficial.

She could be petite with a tumor that weighs 60 lbs, I've read about those.

I'm 5'3 and petite but weigh 170 lbs. Course I am 39 weeks pregnant and used to weigh 105!!! I agree that you can't be 5'3, 175lbs AND toned. Personally I know I feel and LOOK like a whale!

Maybe Australia is different ,,or I am with Wills ,,way off ,,but Petite in my opinion is slight of frame .Meaning : small boned ,,usually most tiny framed people are short ,,but some tall poeple can have a slight wrist span ,,most models are 5,9 and slight of frame .(( with some on the verge of skeletalism ))

Petite implies theres a vunerableness to there structure .

There is No reason why a very small petite woman cant put on a massive amount of wieght and still be considered petite.Being as petite is the reference to bone structure rather than wieght. My sister is petite but she is also thin ,,she has to buy most of her clothes from the childrens isle ,,,were she overwieght for her frame she would still need to buy her shoes from the kids department .

It is not hard to become disillusioned though that petite means small and thin ,,or tall and thin rather then full bodied ,,becuase most poeple in my opinion would usually overlook thier petite structure and describe themselves as full bodied to give a more well balanced exspectation .

To me ,,I wouldnt see any reason why the slightness of ones bone structure would need to come into play ,,unless the person was overly thin. I am tall and of average weight ,,if I were excessively under weight ,,I would feel a need to mention how slight my bone structure was or wasnt to give a better description exspectation.

I think for a well developed vulptious person to mention there slightness (petiteness)

correct! petite refers to small bone structure and short. That is why you can find Xl and XXL sized clothing in the petite section in clothing stores. I dont think she could be toned at that weight unless she is very very muscular ( big shoulder muscles, bicepts and muscular thighs) that is the only possibility.... obviously the poster is obsessed with size and shape and should look elsewhere....

I know several women that are +5'10" - shapely, proportionate, physically fit - etc; indeed, my dad's two sisters are both just shy of 6' and they've never had any body-fat to speak of - just big beautiful women

Well guys Im 4"11 and all my life Ive been called shotrfor the most part but there are times where Im called cute and petite,,but when it gets right down to it Im small I guess and I for one am not really affected by what ppl call me when it comes to my height all I know is that when I meet ppl they get to know me and not my height and they may later joke about it but in the end its who I am and with that I am proud of that its all about what you have in your heart and in your soul that makes you stand taller than you actually are and I for one like that about me....
