Hey Beeks...whats the haps? Everytime I go into chat there are like a whole 6 or 7 profiles in there hoping to get a boob flash (or flash their boob) from/to the *cammies.* Once in awhile you'll stumble in on a night when some of the vintage minglers are around (not that there is anything wrong with newbies...) Something like working on a disolving toilet tissue for war time use or something equally important.....LOL. The details are a bit foggy because we"re talking about the days before Kix, PBF and others made such crazy business out of bustin' the fakers....but she either met Taz and wasn't what she was portraying herself to be or she was supposed to meet Taz and after several excuses and no-shows just disappeared. yes Extasi it is truly an amzing place !! and a great place to work ..
you will have to come up and see the new Exhibit in Anzac Hall ..5 rare WW1 planes fully restored and and the Red Baron's boot has been put on display again ..it was an Aussie who shot him down ..
and the best thing is a new sound and light show directed by Peter "Lord of the Rings" JAckson...all i can say is WOW!! it is great ...He is remaking The Dambusters too ..

Reginald Walter Saunders, MBE (19201990)
The first Australian Aboriginal commissioned in the Australian army. A battle-hardened soldier, Saunders rose from the ranks in the Second World War and later served in Korea.
Reg Saunderss father fought in the First World War, as did his uncle, Reg Rawlings, who was awarded the Military Medal and later killed in action. Following in this military tradition, Reg and his brother Harry enlisted for service in the Second World War; Harry was later killed in New Guinea.

Saunders proved to be a natural soldier, and he found less discrimination in the army than in the wider community; he became a popular NCO in the 2/7th Battalion. The unit saw action in North Africa before joining the Greek campaign. When the British evacuated Crete in May 1941, Saunders was one of many men left behind. He spent an adventurous year hiding out, aided by the locals, before he was finally evacuated by sea. After he returned to Australia he rejoined his battalion and served in New Guinea. In late 1944 he attended an officer training unit, was commissioned lieutenant, and went back to the 2/7th.

The Korean War provided further opportunity for soldiering. Saunders led a company C Company, 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment through fierce fighting, including the battle at Kapyong in April 1951. He remained in the army for a year after the war; however, his life was becoming unsettled, and he had difficulty re-establishing himself as a civilian. Tough years followed, but he overcame them. Meanwhile he found he was increasingly expected to be a spokesperson for indigenous Australians.

Do you know that my Nan was originally engaged to his Brother Harry, but when Uncle Harry was killed in action....Nan met with Grandfather to pass on her condolences and they ended up falling in love.... Nan still had the letters that Uncle Harry had sent her while he was serving.... man, the most eloquent words I have ever read..... I think he was the only one she really loved!!

those two cute little boys are all grown up now the oldest is much taller than me and the youngest is pretty much the same height. they both live with me now and unfortunately my fears of their mother came true. Life's been good cause i totally refuse to admit other wise lol. You also are fondly remmemembered. If you ever decide to go to another get together please inform me. i think it be fantastic to see you again.
