My thoughts go to star and her family.

Star informed me her house has burnt down, and she lost all her possesions and what upsets her the most is losing her grams and her moms stuff. so i think some support and love is needed now.

Star, I'm very sorry about your home. I know that we aren't exactly the best of chums, but aside from that, I sincerely would never want anything horrible like this happen to you or your family. I hope you, Andy and your critters came through alright. As treasured as your things that were passed on to you from your mom and gram were, the most important thing is that you and your family are safe. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Checks was injured trying to put himself between the fire and myself. Andy was at work already. One cat died, one we have with us and 4 are missing. It was an electrical fire of undertermined cause. Could have been the power surges that blew the transformer, a mouse, a light or a fan. All I know is there was a popping sound and the livingroom curtain were ablaze. I put those out with the fire extinguisher. Then all this black smoke started filling the house and the walls started crackling and popping. I grabbed checks and ran to the neighbors.

My sisters are sending me pics of Mom and Dad... I go from sobbing one minute to completely numb the next(in numb mode currrently). The people here though have been beyond supportive. I cry every time one of them tells me I was always there for them because I never realized they knew I was helping.

So now it is inventory and rebuild, already have more bedsdonated than I would have building! A company out of Maine has offered to put a basement in for free. The attornies I work for told me they would help pro bono... I don't think we will need their services but you never know. right now it is seeing what can be salvaged.

Best Buy gave us a real deal on this laptop so I can continue working. Staying here with the Graf's is interesting. But that is a story for another day.They had their home partially destroyed by fire 5 weeks ago. Awesome people.

We always hear how "life" tests us.. But for some reason, when "the test" really rolls around, it always seems to come from left field.... and it can be lot more difficult than we could have imagined..

Toy, can you say in the wall? The fire started INSIDE the wall. Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows the cats are OUTSIDE the wall. Thank you for letting people here know just how ignorant you are. They will know from here out what you are all about.

I did not ask Manny to post this. I thought I would post an update, but who needs this. I know I sure don't. I know I would not wish this on anyone. It's heartbreaking.

What I also know is if I hated someone like some of you have in the past announced, even if I felt bad for them, I would not be bothered acknowledging anything they were going through. Why would someone you attack every chance you get, believe you?

All 5 cats died. Today is going to be spent salvaging what can be salvaged. Then the place has to be demolished and removed.

Check's is finally playing with his toys. Last night and tonight will be spent researching what we want to put on the property. We even looked at Yurts. I found a floor plan I like. Andy of course has other ideas... Moma Dukes (her screen name) only wants a nice big guest room and a tub with the water jets... No she doesn't live with us but our house was her "sanctuary" from her 6 kids. The little ones would stay with me if they were sick so she could work.

As I sit here on the deck of the Inn, people driving by honk their horns. Most of you don't know me. So you will never know just how much this little community sticks together. The support I get from people has been an uplifting surprise as well as a gift in a way that I never knew existed. As I said what goes around comes around... these people have known me 21+ years. I think they have a much better idea of who I am then people like Toy.

With that said, I am asking Mingles to remove this thread. My reason for asking is simple. People like Toy have to have a fight and I do not believe that this is an issue worth arguing over in a place where hatred reigns supreme (and I do mean hatred.) If you hate me, fine, but really, you aren't worth the reading or the effort. If you do care, use the email. I will be happy to hear from you and update you from there. This way we can leave the trash where it belongs and move on.

I have to say, in Star's defense, or maybe better put, in defense of her cats, I have cats. Not a one of them would chase a mouse. My dogs are better mousers than my cats. I will also say, again, being an animal lover that I am, my heart breaks for your loss of your animals. I would be more crushed by that loss than the loss of any of my 'possessions'.

I really want to thank everyone who came in and put a kind word to help Star now that we care about her. I know sometimes we dont see eye to eye, but when the chips are down its always good to see people rally around, to lift someones spirits.
