I got a virtual slap this morning.
Logged into Mingles and walked away for a bit, and came back to a closed chat session with a "You've been slapped!!" msg.
Was it typed in or is this a function of chat? No wonder y'all have so much fun

I am thinking about what I was thinking about just the other day.
Should I present my conclusions to the Academy of Sciences, on the quiddity of the inverse recta-linear curvature of the universe , when I subtract the sum of quantum physics divided by pi?

Make sure you take Newton into account before you throw that out there, Cimm...otherwise you could end up with Pi in your face.

I was thinking that when I looked in the mirror this morning, I "thought" I still looked in my 20's.
Then when I look at my photos, I look even older than I am. Why is that?
Yegads! If I would have known I was going to get this old, I would have taken better care of myself.

I love this time of year
Sure, the weather is colder. However, people seem nicer. Maybe because they sleep better.
I get a nice feeling when the heater comes on. Not much outside noise. I can hear my dogs snoring as I drift off for a quick nap. Yes, a very nice time of year.

Mercy.
25 is like a baby to me, now- LOL

Im thinking one of the most annoying phone habits I have come across is the current societal addiction to what I call, Rudeness Waiting.
You know, that service that is otherwise known in the industry as call waiting? I just got off the phone with someone who called ME. Its like some bizarre Pavlovian effect they hear the beep of another call and they simply HAVE to answer it. Unless they have some kind of multi-million-dollar financial deal going down, or a relative at deaths door, or an emergency at work, couldnt they just let it go to voicemail? What ever happened to basic courtesy and... Hold on, I have another call coming in...click

In the meantime, I've been thinking *for several months* about putting my heater back together so I have central heat...

Wow Spart, you're right...in fact, I did a little surfing to see what happened with them and it appears the fat cats there also ran up millions on credit cards with American Express just a month before the collapse on things like helicopter and limo rides, fancy hotels and dinners and the like, and those bills are of course never going to get paid off. According to news from the UK it's over 18 million!

And now I'm laughing as I'm thinking that it was like watching a rat sneaking into a home:
Running along the walls staying out of sight.. then sniffing the air (posting in the Pick 3 forum) and rubbing it's little claws together thinking that the humans might notice him.... leaving a dropping here and there (putting up posts) and then when the senile man (Spart) fed him, the rat thought that the coast was clear and it could take over.... and so now it's droppings are everywhere again, fouling up the place...
And "Teek" is such a perfect name for a rodent. Even rhymes with the sound that rats make..

Why does money have to be such an important factor in one's life?

I'm thinking money shouldn't be "the" most important factor in one's life.....but, it does play a big part whether we want it that way or not......What's more important obviously is what the government decides what to do with your money.....What for Obama.......

I'm thinking that during my adult lifetime, that it's not just Obama and it's not just now that it's happening and that it doesn't matter who we have as president, or what party holds the majority vote, they (those in the legislative branch of our government) all find a way to waste our money.. ALL Of Them!
(At least, in my opinion)

I agree Cimm......But, it's how it's wasted that is important....spreading the wealth is wrong.....to me anyway......feeding Iraq is wrong to others........

I've been thinking... since i read Flowerpistol's post waayyyy up there, that I'd like to introduce her to the variety of tasty ways to eat grits. Buttered grits; cheesy grits; grits boiled in chicken broth; grits with a sunny-side-up egg; grits with shredded sharp cheddar, chopped green onion and crumbled crisp bacon... so many ways. Then there's the grit cake; let the grits set for a half day or overnight, then slice a neat little cake, fry in oil, hot oil, until both sides are a lovely crispy brown, and the middle, well, you won't know what the middle is until you bite into it (you won't be disappointed). Make yourself a lovely shrimp and sausage mixture with a little white wine, a couple of chopped scallions, and some "low country" spices, garlic butter mixed in at the very end. Place the perfectly golden brown grit cake in the center of Flowerpistol's plate, pouring the shrimp mixture across the cake, and serve Flowerpistol a meal that will make her knees weak. Unless she's allergic to shellfish. Then you eat it yourself. ;^)

I'm thinking the election is over (thank God). It's time for all people to pull together, hunker down and start putting this country back together again. With a new president that offers hope and change....it's a great time to take advantage of the new momentum in the country. From young to old, all races, all religions, etc. etc. it's time to show the world we are still the super power we've always been and can weather any storm thrown at us............

Besides, the name isn't politically correct, and shortly after the Indians and Braves are forced to change their name, they'll probably recall the Cherokees. They'll never be the same after that.

WB MsAries! Glad to see you made it through.
I've been thinking "The Dark Side of Power" is "lending" your neighbor power via an extension cord, and having it go on for two weeks and multiple breaker "pops". Or maybe "The Dark Side of Power" is when you cut them off, like I just did.
I don't care so much about the bill, but the potential for fire is too great, since they don't seem to understand the limits of power through an extension cord...

I'm fascinated by how the Incas fit together all the huge multi-ton rocks with ancient tools.

"Arlington National Cemetery is America's most revered burial ground, which shows the Nation's history through the stories of those buried there.
On May 13, 1864, Union Private William Christman, 67th Pennsylvania Infantry, was the first person to be buried on the grounds of the estate. Later that year the cemetery was officially commissioned a military cemetery"

Short History Lesson-The estate belonged to Robert E. Lee before the War Between the States. Abe wanted him to come home after and see the results from his front porch.---Im thinking "Civil War" was bad choice of name for conflict. Wasn't anything civil about it. Terrible time for all involved. You should feel Proud and Honored Flower.

(correct story line with a few "technical and trivial - but important - changes)
actually, R.E.Lee himself never owned the estate, but was at one time it's executor; the estate was owned by the 'Custis" family (family of wife of george washington)
early in the civil war, the secretary of war commissioned Quartermaster General, Montgomery C. Meigs to find a place for the proper buriel of union bodies and in a very very vengeful act of "vendetta" meigs decided to use "arlington" so that after the war, there would be nothing left for robert e. lee and his wife's family's plantation to come home to
in 1870, George Washington Custis Lee (eldest son) brought a legal action for ejectment in the Circuit Court of Alexandria (today Arlington) County, Va. Custis Lee, as eldest son of Gen. and Mrs. Lee, claimed that the land had been illegally confiscated and that, according to his grandfather's will, he was the legal owner.
In December 1882, the U.S. Supreme Court, in a 5-4 decision, returned the property to Custis Lee, stating that it had been confiscated without due process
On March 3, 1883, the Congress purchased the property from Lee for $150,000. It became a military reservation

I'm thinking I owe a lot of apologies to anyone who read my posts after Veterans Day. I'm human too. Shouldn't have lost my cool and stooped to that level. I never told anyone to "shut up" or "threatened" anyone. Just stated my personal beliefs on the matter. Still feel the same, as it was an attack uncalled for and brought up old wounds, but know I should have used better language and manners. Or not responded at all. I don't usually lose my cool. When I want to get road rage ect. I usually sing the Jimmy Buffet song,Y.A.A. Works for me. I'm thinking Lifes Too Short!

been there... done it (and got ALL the t-shirts) - I saw Oz and even Emerald City, BUT:
there's no place like home, there's no place like home...
( oh, Auntie Em - there's no place like home! )

Well, I have to admit, although the snow can be treacherous to drive in in the winters, and the humidity can be a killer in the summers, and the mosquitoes are the biggest bloodsuckers this side of the Senate...I love the fact the seasons actually change. Hell, sometimes they change all in the same day, lol. There's been days here that have driven Mostie crazy, it will snow, rain, and then the sun will come out and it will actually make you start stripping clothes off...all in the same day!
I've spent a few Christmas seasons in places like Hawaii, California, and Florida...and it didn't feel like Christmas. I've spent summers in places where it didn't feel like summer. I missed the seasons, I missed the smowmobiling and skiing in the winter, I missed the blooming in the spring and the colors in the fall, the crisp air in October taking kids trick or treating...the fall weather where it's not uncomfortably hot, not chillingly cold, but just cool enough it makes you feel more alive and alert, and actually looking forward to that first snowfall. As much as I hate freezing at times, I don't want to sunbathe in November, just as I don't want to wear a coat in July. There's something for everyone...some parts get annoying at times, but just the fact it's always changing is a blessing.

thank you frck... i was stuck 'earlier' in santa clarita b/c of the freeway closures. my folk's house is up in sylmar near the base of the mountain. i did finally find them at our church (in sylmar). they were told that their house is still standing but with water & smoke damage -they can not go see their house just yet. a few people from the church did lose everything. bummer. my family seem to have the worse of luck with the location of houses we choose to live in (thinking about when i was in h.s. we lived a couple of blocks from the epicenter of the Northridge quake)... ANYWAYS.... I SERIOUSLY HOPE CIMM IS OK AS WELL.
hmmmmm.....
i much prefer cold & snow over the heat... b/c thats my excuse for hot cider, chocolate & lots of cuddling!
btw, biker my friend, i would be more than happy to cook for you and the pugs for thanksgiving... ya always welcome to come 'kick it' with me.

What I am thinking right now ,,becaues my original thought got stolen by Ms Aries pics LOL is Who is this Gem ,,Love the pitch fork ,,talk about ,know how to get my attention .Hey Aries!!! Dont knock the heat Babe ,we have our ways of regulating the heat in hott situations ha ha ha and not all of them involve milkshake instead of coffee.
Am not a bigg fan of them cold ,,,and have never really exsperienced snow ,,but you have a way of making it sound like something I'd contiplate .
Take care all !!!!
Oh cant tell you what I was thinking with great detail ,,,because it was to Hott !! it would have melted all that snow .

Spirit, You are intriguingly intensly captivating... dont tempt me to go down under for the milkshake. with the right person, snow (for me) can be really eXXXciting -b/c there's nothing like getting naked due to the body heat from cuddling. JMHO.

After spending the last 8 hours today making mountains of homemade chocolates with 12 friends... I am thinking about how it is possible to gain 5 pounds by eating 1/2 pound of chocolate... it doesnt add up. Think about the whole science behind fat... if I leave butter on the counter in the suppertime temps of 80 degrees the butter melts, yet my body temp is 97 degrees and not one ounce of fat melts off even if I sit in heated direct sunlight at noon! What gives with that? lol

im just happy to be back in Cali (for the moment) after spending the last 4 days in Panama for my cousin's wedding... I LOVE panama, but waking up to lizards on the ceiling, being forced to go to spanish speaking only mass everyday (and Im not Catholic) and the friggin monkeys tapping on the windows at 5am gets a bit annoying.
random, thought i share what i've been thinking...

Thinking that tushyboy tck (who has a new profile called Teek, 35 yrs. old, in an effort to create an image free of all of his blocks) has too much time on his hands to be putting up blocks on everyone. The Captain, Mostie and myself now have 17 from him.

And the role models that were genuine hero's and common folk that stood up when it mattered the most. With no thought toward personal gain or personal safety or personal glory. I've filled all my deer tags, went and camped with grandaughter at a Mountain Man re-enactment at Old Fort Parker (Cynthia Ann Parker/Quannah Parker). Went to a charity fishing tournement on Lake Conroe Sunday, the boat next to me caught a 13+lb bass in 6' of water on a rattle trap. Hate it when someone catches my fish.(KWTX.com) lol Really busy playing catch up on yard work.

Cleawaters, what is the Rupture ?
where is it in the Bible?
The "left Behind"
'Left Behind' is a series of 16 best-selling novels by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, dealing with Christian dispensationalist End Times: pretribulation, premillennial, Christian eschatological viewpoint of the end of the world. The primary conflict of the series is the members of the Tribulation Force against the Global Community and its leader Nicolae Carpathiathe Antichrist. Left Behind is also the title of the first book in the series. It is published by Tyndale House, a firm with a history of interest in dispensationalism.

One reason often cited for the books' popularity is the quick pacing and action. Michelle Goldberg has written that, "On one level, the attraction of the Left Behind books isn't that much different from that of, say, Tom Clancy or Stephen King. The plotting is brisk and the characterizations Manichean. People disappear and things blow up
Origins of the Rapture has been claimed to have been invented by an Anglo-Irish religious figure named John Nelson Darby(1800-1882). He was ordained in the Church of Ireland and worked there to convert Catholics. He joined a dissident group called the Plymouth Brethren and became a prominent leader. Around 1830 he began teaching that Jesus' coming at the end of times would be preceded by a "rapture of saints."
Make any BS up and talk about it long enough in your echo chambers til it becomne fact in your own mind Clearwters.
If you truly believe that youre among a special group, same type that sold their homes and waited in 1666 for the second coming on a hilltop.
Same type of people whowaited on the Halle Bopp Comet with Nike sneakers and five dollars in quarters and commited suicide.
Same type of folks who believe the 12th Imam is hiding in a well.
Drinkup, but go it alone.

scorp45 well sir- first I would like to ask you if you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour? In the book of Thessalonians 4-17 we see here Paul is talking about the rapture,{Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds,to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Caught Up is the greek harpazo, meaning "to grasp hastly, snatch up,to lift, transport,or Rapture. It is going to be a very orderly procedure. The dead will rise first. Stephen may very well be first to rise since he was the first martyr, then the apostles and all those millions who have laid down there lives for Jesus. They will just keep coming right down throught the centuries. Finally,if we are alive at that time,we who are saved will bring up the rear of the parade. Most of the church has already gone through the doorway of death. If you do not want to drink the Living Water sir, you do not have to ,but trust me I will have a lot of company. As skeptic as I am of fric she might even be going with me,and scorp45 if you are alive you better hope you go- you do not want to LEFT BEHIND!!

Praise the lord CLEARWATER! Has anyone every seen the movies left behind, the tribluation? After watching these movies it touches you and you realize it will be a reality shortly. People ask me if I am worried about retirement and paying off some debts. I say no I am not worried because I am going in the rapture. The lord will be here before I retire, I just feel it and I see what's going on in the world compared to what the bible says, which is right! I worry about nothing because I will not be left behind, I can't until the lord takes me home. Everyone must die and I will die for a split second or a few seconds why I'm in the rapture. REPENT!!!

scrop 45 what did you say, I've never heard of the people waiting for the rapture like you talked about ,obviously they were a little confused and mixed up,you won't find me or ims5 waiting on some hill for the Lord in out five dollar sneakers,we have a life to live ,things to do,like tell people the truth about Jesus Christ, don't tell me you don't believe in the Lord? If you don't you will fit in just fine with these lost souls,do you read the Bible? I know Tim Lahaye he came to Reno and spoke, very powerful stuff, along with 3 other guys, the place was filled with the Holy Spirit. Please, do tell were you stand,if I'm not mistaken you want to be LEFT BEHIND

Clear: LOL, my pastor came over today and I told him about this site and he read some of my posts, but he was very disturbed by your posts. He said it is clear that you love the Lord and are a believer but said your behaviour is very very unchristian like and unloving. He said a person making these comments does not have the Holy Spirit in them, that there are deceived, that they have as much as the devil in them as the person who doesn't believe in God etc etc. Long story short he said in a sence your living a double life. Yes the Lord does give us choices and wants us to spread the word, but you can't force anything on anybody. All we can do is spread the word and pray for those that are lost, that's it. We can't kill someone or do something wrong and expect God to forgive us, though he will but if you have that intention it is wrong and thats trying to use God(just saying) So all I can say to everyone, make the right choice we are not perfect and I pray for everyone, thats all we can do Clear

Clear/h2o:
I never said I didnt believe or read but much of what you said about the Rapture and some other things that have been spun into religion by anagoges. You are welcome to believe what you like.
Promising end times is skirting ones responsibility to make the world a better place, no? Encouraging others to invite End Times prophecy is dangerous.
When the President said he had a higher father to answer to and decided to send those men and women off to war, believing they would of course go to heaven if kiled...was this being responsible?
When Rev Hagee calls for the bombing of Iran(if need be) and asks for money to pass onto politicans , is this being the right kind of preacher?
Cimm opened a very good forum about religious fanatics. That might be a beter place to kick this Clear h2o, just this evning...Im going to bed after watching Charlie Rose and a discussion about OBamas new policies.
I dont want to turn this into a huge discussion however please answer one question for me. Is the Bible an accurate account of history?
This issue is to me the most seriously pressing problem with monotheism in general and Christianity in particular. It is a wilful abdication of responsibility to wish for the end of the world and personal divine salvation within your own lifetime.
THE END

Hey Robbie, most of us wear a glove by a company called Neuman. They make a winter glove and then when it's really cold at the top (like it is now) we'll wear "liners" inside of them. I wear a liner for ski gloves that still allows my hand to fit inside (although it's a bit snug).
You still have the flexibility to grab (esp. your pilot chute handle, which is small) and they're still fairly warm at what ever the wind chill factor (at 116-120 mph) drops 10 ambient to . After 0 my hands are always burning when I open.
Also, keep in mind that a skydive only lasts 60 seconds and we're working pretty hard during that time. So it's a short period of exposure. Although it's long enough to blow dry out a soaked wet suit.
Even if you water proof them, I don't know how long they will hold up getting wet from the snow.
I hope that was of some help.

Cimm and Rep......thanks. I'll check for the neuman's. Rep, the neoprene's work pretty good, depending on the work I'm doing. If it's not too rough they're ok, but, I tear up gloves pretty fast when building in the winter. I love em for spring fishing though......

Robbie, I cant say I ever found a glove that was an all round good glove. Like you said they get torn up so fast. I would up just using those white knit gloves and cut the fingers out.
I did use down mittens one winter it was so cold.
Anyone shop out of the Cabellas catalog? I love their stuff.
I especially like the Merril shoes. I stumbled into Merils and never left. Their made by New Balance and have a shoft rubbery bottom for walking on rocks and in streams. The leather on top is so tuough usually I wind up cutting it and making holters out of it, like holder for pins or snips. Good shoes though
That reminds me, I need to check out their online catalog.

Yep, those are the ones, Robbi.
It's the "winter sports glove". I know that cause I have a new pair sitting in the package right here.
If you look at the photo where I'm coaching the two other jumpers, you'll see the "N" on the gloves on my hand.

On their web site it says they have a wool back, but the leather is also thicker. You'll still need a liner for sub zero weather
At 120 mph at 10 degree's the wind chill is minus 18.
At 120 mph at 0 -10 the wind chill is -31 and minus 44 degrees (respectively) and my my hands are always cold when I land. I think that minus 20 is about average for where you live isn't it?
And I don't think that this would be a great work glove... in terms of durability. The regular receiver gloves cost around $30.00 a pair. I don't remember what the winter gloves cost... I've had this new pair for about 3 years waiting for my other ones to wear out.

I'm thinking.......well, you don't really want to know. But, Jules just called, Chicago airport is all ****ed up, so she'll miss her flight in Minnapolis. She won't get home till the 26th. But, they said she could fly to Denver where there is a flight to GF, and she can go on standby. The flight is overbooked by three and if she doesn't make it on....she can't leave Denver until the 23rd!! Her luggage made it though and is on it's way here. For as much as a person pays for flights.....those assholes should really have some kind of back up plan.......

im thinking about how crazy my house is becoming and will get by the 25th when all 13 bros and sisters with their kids come visit or stay at my new house for the holidays... what was i thinking? the best part though, is having my lil sobrinas here & my sister making me breakfast in bed.
robbi, sorry to here about jules being stranded... my fingers are crossed that she makes it today. o'hare is reported to be the worst airport in the US alongside atlanta int'l (hartsfield & jackson).

The positive is that she will be here for Christmas, which we weren't so sure about yesterday.......just a process and the poor girl has no make up (yikes) or changes of clothes because of course, her luggage made the original flight......
I'm thinking life is good, we're healthy and all this serves to make memories......
I'm also thinking that MsAries has just got to be insane or will be by the end of the holidays......LOL....13 brothers and sisters.....omg....with kids. Good Luck, but I'm sure it's gonna be a Great time and very memorable!!

robbi, im insane but im doing it for the memories and my parents... yes i have 4 brothers and 9 sisters (im the baby and the only one not married or with kids). I have 24 nieces y nephews and 7 great nieces y nephews (and you should see my parents, they are 70/64 yrs old but they look good to be great grandparents). anyways, my parents live here in Ca. but my siblings (b/c of military duty) live all over the US (fort bragg, fort lauderdale, fort campbell, fort wayne, fort leonard wood, fort mccoy, and camp pendleton). and since everyone is home and not overseas, we decided to do a big family gathering for the holidays. i supplied the location, they'll supply me with food and gifts -can't beat that. j/k! :P
funny i was thinking about as im still in bed on my laptop with my 2 lil nieces sleeping in my bed next to me... how they came to me last night and said "tia, i love you". so i let them get in the bed with me and we watched "grandma got ran over by a reindeer" lastnite... i love that cartoon! LOL.

I'm thinking that I'm grateful the holidays are over for a couple of months (me and all three kids all had b-days in there among Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years - Happy New Year to all (just a little bit late) - and that as much as I love and adore my kids Monday can't get here fast enough.... they go back to school and I need a few hours to get all their Christmas stuff put up, and not see it all scattered across the floor again in five seconds! I'm also thinking I'll convieniently forget any further birthdays - and hope all friends and family do as well. And lastly - I think I'll go crawl in bed for a little while and hope I can actually sleep. (insomnia really sux)

I'm thinking you all have about about 30-45 days left to buy physical silver and gold before the first shoe drops. We're talking DJI=4-5000. And you have another 4-5 months after that to stock up on your canned goods & toilet paper before the other shoe drops. Then we're @ >2-3000.

I'm thinking after a few years away, it's SO nice to pop back into Mingles and see some of the same "old" faces... and I do mean OLD... (wicked chortle)... and me coming up on 8 yrs married to the Shadoworm.... so happy to be in sunny Texas on 14 acres and building a log home... er, except for the sawdust in all my orifices. <grin>

LOL Rep, I agree! Yesterday we found pipes running to no where, electrical lines like thet too.
His job is to decided what will work best, I will be helping him. He will tell me what to do and when to do it.
My job is the cleaning, funiture arrangement, painting etc... He will help me when I tell him what to do and when to do it!
Makes for a nice team work thing. Then of course we have everyone else that wants to help. So scheduling things of who, what and where gets fun too.
Thye girls are already making plans to take me for more shopping (never thought I would ever say this... I am starting to have an aversion to shopping!) There is needed stuff. I am totally for good quality needed stuff. I have some odd and ends decor stuff, but really... the rest can wait. Don't need a turkey fryer, LOL.
So now there will be a house warming/party. The new neighbors are already doing that and have told me I am NOT to help...
So as to what I am thinking... ahhh, my mind is scattered with everything!

(((hugs))) Pita.
Thoughts today are scheduling... there is a bout of scarlet fever going through the school. People that had volunteered to do things have very sick kids on their hands. Can't have them feeling badly, their kids are first and formost!
Don't mind me, still doing the happy dance with times I want to kill a certain someone, but LOL... he has his grill and all the goodies that come with it! Now it I could just get him away from the grill to hook up the pellet stove...

I was just thinking the average $20 per week the lower income households only adds up to a $1040 a year in a tax break. I'm thinking this doesn't seem like very much. The extra $15k tax credit you would get for buying a first time house, also doesn't seem like a good thing since nobody can actually afford to buy a house right now, or have the job to back the loan.

The fine print in that 15k is that in 2011 you would have to pay back $500 per year. I don't call that a tax break.
Thinking, got phone and satellite TV ready to roll... 3 days till furniture!

Congrats Biker, I know how you feel.
Now I am pondering if the new grill has anything to do with the 16#s of hamburger in the freezer...
