dont mean to sound stupid or naive,but my mail on here,99% of it,says respond at such and such address,i always then suspect it's a scam,i like the idea of using mingles as a protective barrier to my e-mail address,yet i myself had some issue with something called a jpeg,and was unable to upload photos,so am i being overly cautious?

Are there reasons besides scams for responding to a personal address that i'm unaware of?

Nope, no other reasons. You can usually tell the scams, because when you read their profile, they will miss common words all of the time, such as using "the, is, etc." in the wrong place- things that even the most bumbling, illiterate typist isn't going to miss- they all basically say the same thing, and use stupid little sayings, like, "Looks don't matter, love is what really counts", etc.- and they are usually 27-29, look like models for the most part (operative words "most part", lol), and are from places like NY, AZ, CA, etc.- If you're bored, just for fun, you could write to a few, wait until they tell you the sob story about how they are IN LOVE with you, WANT TO BE WITH YOU, but the cost of the ticket is too much, more than they thought, and they can't pay for the surgery for their poor dying grandmother and pay for the ticket at the same time, and just....MESS with them, lol tell them things like, "why, darling, YES! I DID send it through Western Union, just as you asked...didn't you get it yet???"

Adam, I can tell you it's much fun to do just like Mostie said. You can open up a yahoo acount that have absolutley no connection to you. And then just like she said, play along. You can have much fun with that. And you will also see that there is a mass-emigration from US to mostly Ghana and Nigeria, But other countrys in that region are also represented. lol If you happen to get like 10 "winks" in 1 minute from the same girl. Then she is most probably NOT a scammer LOL. Just some odd behaviour girls have. Have fun

Russian girls posing as Americans like to say they are 'native american' in their profile, they think it means born in the USA.

That's a dead give-away that they are scamming. Funny as hell.
