ok ya'll, we finally have a date for the Las Vegas get ta gether. the Nascar race is on Sunday Feb 28th, i get ta celebrate my birthday with 140,000 people. not sure about Robbi, but i will be flying in to Vegas on either Tuesday the 23rd or Wednesday the 24th. still not to sure about hotel accommodations or where we can have a dinner gathering and after part. need to work these details out over the next few months. so any one interested post here. and if anyone wants ta help jump on it with any i dead or suggestions as to where to go to dinner.

Anyway Jules and I will probably fly in Friday and fly out Tuesday. That way if there is a rain out of the race Sunday, we'll be there for it Monday......

Hey Guys...I'll put it on my calendar but I doubt if I'll be able to make it. I'm not big on nascar, but I'm sure I could keep myself entertained during the race. I'd love to come out and just meet everyone though. *Keeping fingers crossed*

Any ideas on what kind of get together place would be best? There are plenty to choose from here; banquet halls, convention centers, private roooms in restaurants, and others. I haven't been to one of the Mingles get togethers yet so I'm not sure what kind of stuff you guys are going to want. Let me know

a banquet hall at a decent priced buffet would be good that way everyone can have a choice at many different foods. i know the buffet me and Robbi went to this year had pretty good food but wasnt to much to choose from.

No need to rent a fuction room. All we need is a good sports Bar to meet at after the race. ESPN has a sports bar near NYNY Casino. Usually we all meet up at a hotel bar prior to doing any partying. Less crowded and easier to find each other early on. We will probably be staying at the Embassy Suittes and they have a large casual bar for an early meeting place. Thats what we did in Vegas for the last party and it worked out well. I'll help were I can.

What Jump means is that Embassy Suites has a "Happy Hour" with free drinks. We lost a few people the first night before we even got started in St. Louis. Flip side is a free made to order breakfast or feed off of the buffet. Either way it's free so no inexplicable room charges.
any ideas will be great, however we need to leave the final details to just a couple people that way plans dont get messed up.

Rep, it's a guy named Ron. He's just gone through hell with his health and finally got awarded the money he deserves after blowing out his knees on the job. He also recently, within the last 6-8 months met this woman and they're googly eyed, so they think the way to fix it is to get married.......LOL Good people....and excited about the race.....

just made my first payment for my tickets. if i get my inheritance before then, wich i should me and Raenee our gona renew our vows down there.
Yup.....made our first payment and reserved three more seats for Cimm, my sis and bro in law. Couldn't get next to us, but they're still really good seats right on the start/finish in blue section. But, we have a chance to upgrade them after they see who renews their tickets. They give everyone a week after the 15th, then maybe something will open right around us.
BTW, anyone planning on going to the race, the tickets should be available to the public in about a week. I would recommend you keep an eye on www.lvms.com and see when they are available and purchase as soon as you can if you want to sit in a certain section. I'm pretty sure the race won't sell out and tickets will be available all the way to the end, but the better seats will go fast.

Been calling around getting room prices. There are some good deals right now. As we get closer to NASCAR weekend the rates will increase. I would suggest locking in some good prices now. If something better comes along you can always cancel and re-book. I think we're going to book rooms and then look for flights. Sometimes the flight/room package is best.......so we'll do that if we find something.

went online robbi, Bills isnt taking reservations yet. Excalibur has some good prices.
Yeah, we're looking at Bill's Gambling Hall. My sister made reservations. You have to call though, they aren't booking out that far on line yet. We called and for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday it was $392.00. That's a good price for there. Of course Friday and Saturday are more than Sunday/Monday. My sis got five nights for 440.00.
The Excaliber is where we stayed last year. Nice place. We're just trying to move down more to the middle of the strip. Plus it's close to The Hole in the Wall.
yeah i checked with Excalibur and they was 343 for 5 nights so that's probably where we will stay.

Will be there FO SHO,,Planning on Thursday , Friday and Saturday nights. I spoke with nrokinu on the phone and we discussed the party. She said she will try to make up a simple to understand website with local vegas info. Hotels, $29 - $59 a night $69 - $109.00 a night and so on. Also airport info etc etc. When we finaly land on a meeting place for say friday, she can post that also and any updates or changes for the party. LOL Not trying to make more work for ya nrok. :o) Personaly I plan on staying at the Embassy Suittes on Paradise road next to the Hilton. Every room is a suitte. with 2 rooms. jumpn
Gee thanks Jump! I needed more work! From what I have found out, the actual race is going to be on Sunday. It would probably be best to do the "official" get together (that sounds hilarious considering this is Mingles) on Saturday. We could probably come up with some ideas for meeting up on Friday for anyone showing up earlier as well. If I ever get a day off with no homework I might actually get this help site up and running!
Nrokinu, the sprint cup race is on sunday and the nationwide race is on Saturday, me and robbi were thinking saturday night for the main party. some of us will be going to the race on saturday then join the part afterward.

I want to attend the Mingles show in Vegas, I have NO INTEREST in Nascar, but I do in meeting the mingles ladies. Where can I find all the information on dates, and activities? I usually stay in my penthouse suite, so I need to get all the info to make reservations. Once I have the dates, I can get all the show dates, and make plans to see some shows. I plan on driving there, so if any ladies need transportation to and from Airport, let me know, Happy to help.

Looks good nrokinu.........We're not flying in until Friday and not sure of the time so maybe a meeting place for Friday and again on Saturday would be a good idea. The race on Saturday is normally over at around 6pm I believe, so people could make a get together that night also. We're not flying out until Tuesday, so anyone staying that long, would love to spend some time with ya'll........

I gotta go check out the Nascar cafe at Sahara, they have a 70 mph roller coaster.
Consider me in for Las Vegas (last weekend in February, right?) although I may give NASCAR a pass-- if it was three laps around the track, I might have the attention span for that but otherwise I'd probably lose count around lap 37 and be totally lost thereafter. But since I've never been to Vegas before, can anyone recommend a hotel that offers some reasonable rates?
Alright Franken.......depends on what reasonable is to you I suppose. Almost any travel site on the internet can get you to motel/hotels. If you're flying in check on flights and hotels together. I'm staying at Bill's Gambling Hall. Our room is $105 for Friday and Saturday, $79 for Sunday and $69 for Monday so roughly $350 for the four nights we'll be there. I think Hunter is staying at the Excaliber which he said wasn't quite as expensive. I've heard, but haven't looked, about other places that average around $80 per night. I think alot depends on where you're located in proximity of the strip. If you're driving down it gives you additional options since you'll be more mobile around the town.

Here is another great website for everything vegas,, especially hotels and especially for the cheapskates...jes sayin. I think we will be one BIG GRISWOLD VEGAS FAMILY VACATION.. BTW most of the downtown vegas hotels are cheeeeeaaap and only a 10 dollar cab ride to the strip..The Riviera,,Circus Circus, Monte Carlo, Stratosphere and the Sahara are all on the strip and very inexpensive, not the lap of luxury mind you but good if your a cheapskate :o) http://www.cheapovegas.com/index.php
I think as time nears we should also publish a meet up location for the Friday and the Saturday (both daytime and evening). Perhaps we can come to some kind of consensus on this.
I thought the consensus for one night (friday) was the ESPN bar at NYNY.
Only problem i have with a bar is some people may not be drinkers. I was hoping you could find a good Buffet some where with a banquette room, maybe one that serves alcohol that way people can drink and get whatever food they wanted.
but in a buffet, they tend to leave once the food is gone....if we go to a BAR...we may hang around all night.
ESPN ZONE is perfect, Great location best part of the strip. If you don't drink, no problem, have non alcoholic drink. Everyone is not going to agree on same place, most well break up into smaller groups or pairs anyway. This place is big and open late and easy to get to, so I say ESPN ZONE is fine. I say meet there Friday and Saturday nights, so in case you cant make one, make it the other night, or both!

I have been to the ESPN zone several times including for one other mingles party night. I even have a picture of me inside the glass enclosure with the RockMSockM Lifesize Robots, almost got tossed out for it but didn't. AND they also serve good food,,see menu ------->http://www.espnzone.com/menu/
I don't drink either, but that is a pretty central place. I've been through NYNY and it's cool. I have no problem going to bars......so it's all good here. And if I choose to........Vegas Rule #1 applies.....correct??......LOL
The dualing Piano Bar in Harrahs(mid strip across from the Mirage) is a FANTASTIC fun place you may wish to consider. You never know what crazy Canadian who frequents vegas 3-4 times annually may show! ;-)

A last minute update-- the Corporate HR at where I work recently overturned their policy about allowing employees to bank overtime as time off. So all those off-days over the summer where I went into the office and worked are to be paid out with no option to bank any. Unfortunately, my regular vacation time next year is already booked so it looks like I'll have to bail regarding Vegas in February. I already sent my regrets to Nrokinu and I hope that all of the rest of you who can make it to Vegas have a blast (someone take pictures!)

Thank you for your inquiry into the shuttle transportation being offered for the 2010 NASCAR Race. I would like to first of all apologize to you for not getting back to you sooner. I have been transferred to many different departments due to downsizing.
Yes, Coach America is proud to announce that we will be providing the shuttle transportation for the NASCAR event in 2010. I am waiting on the final information to come from our Sales and Operations staff as where we will be providing the shuttle from and other details. According to our operations and sales team, the website should be up and running next month. We do apologize for the delay; our IT department is working diligently to get this site up and running. We are finalizing all the information.
Here is some information regarding the shuttle service we are providing:
Shuttle Hours:
Friday, February 26: 7:00am --- 7:30pm
Saturday, February 27: 7:00am --- 9:30pm
Sunday, February 28: 7:00am --- 9:30pm
Shuttles will be picking up from the following locations: Golden Nugget, Treasure Island, Riviera, and Tropicana
We will desk locations set up at each hotel for purchasing and redemption of shuttle tickets. Locations of each booth have yet to be determined.
Desk Hours: 7:00am 5:00pm (Thurs. Sat.); 7:00am 12:00 noon (Sunday)
Ticket Prices:
$30.00 pp Friday Pass (Roundtrip)
$30.00 pp Saturday Pass (Roundtrip)
$40.00 pp Sunday Pass (Roundtrip)
$60.00 pp ThreeDay Pass
There will be staff onsite at assist passengers at each location. Tickets can be purchased online at http://nascar.coachamerica.com (Under Construction)
