I'm headed out to the great state of Texas for the weekend. My sister is down from Ireland and my daughter down from Alaska. Good times, good bbq and good people. Life is good.
Y'all play safe for the holidays. Please use a designated driver and don't look down the end of a lit roman candle

Have a great holiday weekend, and maybe next year we can all make plans to spend some time on Pamela's new deck!
Be safe, have fun.

We have SUNSHINE!!!! May everyone have a safe and fun filled 4th!
Yard work today, then tomorrow we have a cookout at 5:30 pm (the whole neighborhood!). Lining up the pontoon boats to watch the fireworks!
Checks has a new buddy named Chewy (the neighbors' Pomeranian.) The "boys" beat up on the poor big dogs. They are currently playing with a superball and I soooo wish I had a video camera. LOL, I think they are playing soccer or rugby...

I had today off since most of my clients are in the U.S. Had to work on Wednesday, which was Canada's national holiday, but I'll take the overtime.
We have a major festival happening this weekend, with lots of exotic food, souvenirs and great music. I'm headed that way in about 10 mins.
A co-worker is celebrating with a "stag and doe" party tomorrow, so I'll be there. I'm off all next week so I'll be getting some fishing in for sure.

In the stompin stampedin city of CALGARY ALBERTA CANADA - the biggest outdoor show on earth called THE STAMPEDE starts TODAY and goes for the next 10 days!!! Yahooo! Rodeos, chuck wagons, and every type of competition imaginable in the agriculture area is happening - my favourite is the sheep herding dog competition - way too fun to watch how trained those dogs are! Love the horse shoeing competition too and oh my gosh the sheep shearing is amazing. Big bucks will be won in every area - especially those rodeo cowboys! The city is alive with entertainment everywhere! Fireworks everynight will go off at 11:15 PM as an ending to the Grandstand evening show... its a fun time to be in Calgary right now!

lol star,i'll bet thats right!
shop-congratulations on your homecoming,...but im sorry to say you probably wont be getting belle after all now,my ex is probably going to take her when she takes her grandmothers house, not a sure thing yet though.
taking a quick break from my weekend, grilled out steaks last night with hickory chips, had a great evening, took daughter fishing this morning for 5-6 hours, caught a bunch of bass and crappie, kept 8 bass and 2 crappie, just finished filleting them,..got hot so i did the last 9 in the kitchen sink,...the nice thing about being single is not getting in trouble for cleaning fish and butchering deer in the kitchen.

LOL......You're right Adam.....I can get away with the fish (of course ya gotta lite candles), but I don't think Jules would be real fond of bambi parts laying around the kitchen........

Sounds like a good day fishing with your daughter.....(is there a bad one?? lol)

Its been a great day Robbi, the weather was wonderful,we kept commenting on what a beautiful day it was,i shot snappers with heads bigger than an extralarge fist,my daughter fell in the pond, slipped off her standing rock,we got a good laugh out of it,then she reminded me of when i was holding a largemouth bass and slapped her face with it when we fished the time before last,we started cracking up,lol,i still remember her shock at getting her face slapped with a bass, priceless.
we had a wonderful time, and due to cleanup,my kitchen is now the cleanest it has been in a while,it looks like the usual fireworks get together has been cancelled for the first time ever, maybe i'll take her to town this evening.

Sounds like you had a great weekend Adam and youre right about the butchering a deer in the kitchen - that is just bacteria levels beyond my imagination let alone the horror of it all over! geeez - please tell me you know how to clean and disinfect!

lol Pamela, kitchens have always been about preparing food,i clean everything with dawn dishwashing soap,(its antibacterial) and nothing else,...when i clean that is,but ive never worried much about that stuff,...and the only way youd ever know i butchered in the kitchen is because its so clean youd know id just done something.
i'm not a slob about it or anything, and i cant see it as any different than store bought meats being prepared in the kitchen,i think that is where youd have to worry if you were going to,because its been handled by who knows how many people you dont know, and i think a person should have some immunity tolerance or whatever to bacteria unless they are never exposed to it enough to develop some healthy immunity.

btw Pamela...i thought about "beyond your imagination bacterial levels" and "the horror of it all today" when i was breading and frying the crappie, now thats messy...cooking.
my ex came over friday to bring my daughter and hang out,i was grilling,so she went in the kitchen and removed months worth of mail from my cookstove and made pasta salad, she even went throuhg my mail for me,...she informed me all the food in my fridge was a year out of date, including the mayo she used for the pasta salad, the same with all the food in my pantry,...also she was impressed with the cobwebs on my dining room table, she said they were the biggest she had ever seen,(havent used dining table for a year)lol,...the pasta salad was still good, but ...it just got me thinking of bacterial nightmares beyond horror or however you put it,lol
the crappie was great,my daughter and i just finished it,yum-yum
