I just wanted all of you to know, that wherever you are, as long as WE aren't there? You will have normal, seasonal weather. Unless you are in Nebraska (where...we are...), you are completely safe in normal, October weather.

Why, you ask, are YOU in normal weather?

Why, it's because Capn and I aren't there!

Why is that, you say?

Well...I'll TELL you why!

It is 6:12 in the morning- to poor capn's chagrin, I sleep with the window open above my side of the bed (there are two windows there)-now, this morning, just what do you suppose woke me up, to make me get up, and get the coffee on, at this ungodly hour on a Saturday, no less? (Besides Capn, haha).....

I'll tell you what it was....

Snow.

Yes, you read me right- SNOW. Sprinkling on my face, no less. It's snowing out there, on OCTOBER 10...like a freakin' winter wonderland...in OCTOBER. EARLY....O C T O B E R ! ! !

It's because Capn and I moved here- the snow..it's following us. Except in Cali, where it was the blistering heat, that was following us too-

LOL

I told you about the weather there already.....

(next... beware the winds - but at least you won't have those un-Godly temps you had in MI)

Mostie Frost - does that mean you're married to Capn' SnowBalls?

Chris, someone told me (next door neighbor, the bum, LOL) that the wind gets so bad here in the winter, that it gets to like 50 below....now I seriously don't want to believe that. But then...he also told us that they had a tornado right here in town a couple or three decades ago, and that it hit a particular bank, sucked all of the money out of it (seriously, he was telling me this, lol) and then proceeded to dump somewhere in the neighborhood of $30,000 in a swamp here in town- LOL

The older you get, the more you will hate the cold. Here on the Canadian Border of Upstate New York, they have four seasons.....early winter, mid-winter, late winter, and next winter. The Canada Geese have been flying overhead for a couple of weeks, and I'll be right behind them....Southbound and down.....loaded up and truckin'!!!!!

lol- the snow is starting to melt off, somewhat- at least on the roads and sidewalks (where it TOTALLY counts, ha!)- extreme weather doesn't exactly float my boat, but I guess it could be worse- oh heck, it can always be worse- extreme heat, to me, is worse than the snow, though- you simply can't get away from it- at least in the cold, you can bundle up- in the heatheatheat, you just swelter-lol

agreed mostie on the cold being better than the heat,...one of the things i appreciate about winter, and much snow...is that it sort of forces people to slow down,to rest...to stay in by the fire with coffee,..just rest,it seems winter gives us a much needed break, and reminds us of whats important i think,of course it brings on additional chores as well,(feeding hay and grain, keeping water tanks broken up and thawed,etc.)but...it just seems there is something slow and beautiful...even sacred about winter...the quiet ...using provisions youve stored up,yep...thank God for winter

That's a nice way of looking at it, adam- actually, the sun is shining now and the snow has pretty much melted off, but we had several inches this morning- go figure- what state is it that has that saying, "Don't like the weather? Wait 5 minutes!"

...probably Michigan, LOL

And Chris, I haven't heard any accents here! But of course, now that you've told me this, suddenly I will be listening to everyone, intently- lol

There's still snow laying around all over the place out there, it's still cold-(I think that part will be sticking around, long johns at Halloween, lol)....I have my cup of coffee, unfortunately for the fire, the only way I'm going to get that, is if I start crumpling up printer paper and striking a match, and I'm tempted- LOL

Living in Canada I can tell you some stories. Most of my clients are in the US and when they ask me how the weather is up here, many are surprised to learn that it can get very hot and humid in the summer and we don't all live in igloos.

I remember speaking to a lady in South Carolina who was getting ready for a business trip to Toronto in late June. She asked me what the weather was like at that time of the year. I told her that it can get up to about 25-32 degrees, thinking of course in Celcius. She remarked that she would have to buy some winter clothing then (she was thinking in Farenheit).

I strung her along for a bit before asking her if she'd pack winter clothes for a trip to Boston in late June. She said "of course not!" I then suggested that she look at a map. Boston of course is at 42.358 degrees latitude while Tronto is at 43.39 degrees or about 69 miles further north.

I also have had comments from clients in Minnesota in January who wanted to know how cold it was "way up there in the Great White North." To which I responded "you tell me. . . you're further north than I am."

mostie you and cap ought to have a cornburning stove where your at,only drawback is they require electricity, whereas a wood stove doesnt, but since you probably dont have access to personal use of alot of ground yet, corn burning would probably be the way to go

yeah ron im in that category too,im terribly ignorant of geography among other things, there are soooo many things id like to learn, and life is soo short,but...generally.. i learn a little everytime i talk to people..heck we all learn quite a bit from you ron, lol, glad to know you

Onceagain...48, P.O.S., whatever, what does it take to get through that seriously neanderthal skull of yours? You honestly need to find some poor unsuspecting woman, and get laid, or something- you don't know me from Adam, and yet you feel this need to let loose with a barrage of name-calling, and presume to know who I am, and what I'm all about- which you certainly don't. Unless you're toy, or someone else on this site who has this insane need to post nasty crap without letting anyone know who they are (can you say "coward"? Sure you can), but truth be known, nobody on here really knows me except a couple of people, and I'm married to one of them, so!

Go to anger management classes- go get a hooker or something, get rid of some of that frustration- quit sitting in front of your computer, whining like a little bitch, cos dude, nobody really GIVES a damn, ok? Nothing worse than a whiner- or if you're gonna continue being this angry, whiny, disturbing little bitch, then go somewhere where there are OTHER "angry, whiny, disturbing little bitches", and do your whining there.

I don't see why you bother to post, where nobody wants you to post- all we're going to do is delete them anyway, and nobody is impressed by anything you have to say at any rate- may I suggest a couple of sites for people like you?

ok..i got this in my inbox today, wanted to share it,doing it here ..in this thread..because someone called my beloved hills flat, lol

Kansas:

Once upon a

time in the Kingdom of Heaven, God was missing for six

days.

Eventually, Michael the Archangel

found Him, resting on the seventh day.

He inquired of God, "Where have

you

been?"

God sighed a deep sigh of satisfaction and proudly pointed

downwards

through the clouds, "Look Michael, look what I've

made!"

Archangel Michael looked puzzled and said, "What is

it?"

"It's a planet," replied God,

and I've put life on it. I'm going to call

it

Earth and it's going to be a great place of

balance."

"Balance?" inquired Michael,

still confused.

God explained, pointing to different parts of Earth. "For

example,

Northern Europe will be a place of great opportunity and

wealth, while southern Europe is going to be poor; the Middle East over

there will be a hot spot.

And over there I've placed a continent of

white people, while over here is a continent

of black people."

God continued,

pointing to different countries. "This one will be

extremely hot and

arid while this one will be very cold and covered in ice."

The Archangel,

impressed by God's work, then pointed to an area of

rolling hills and prairie on a large land mass and

said, "What's that beautiful garden spot there?

"Ah," said God.

"That's Kansas, the most glorious place on earth. There

are beautiful lakes, rivers, sunrises,

sunsets, rolling hills, open prairie, oceans of waving

wheat, small

water falls, monumental rock formations,

abundant wildlife, pure white snow in the winter, white

fluffy clouds, blue skies year-round, and

a place where a person can see millions of stars in the sky at

night.

God continued, The people from Kansas are going to

be modest, intelligent and humorous and they are going to be found

traveling the

world. They will be extremely sociable, hard working and high

achieving, and

they will be known throughout the world as diplomats

and carriers of peace."

Michael gasped in wonder and admiration but then

proclaimed, "What about balance,

God? You said there would be balance!"

God replied wisely, "Wait until you see the idiots I'm

putting around them in Nebraska, Colorado, Missouri, and

Oklahoma."

Lol---

And then God created tornadoes, and put them smack dab in the middle of this glorious place- LOL

Search even deeper... who are you looking for exactly?
