Anyone have any views on Russian brides??? I just signed up to www.email2femail.com this is all new to me!

awesome topic tony,that took guts to post that,there are a multitude of reasons why i personally find the idea very appealing,...so many that i havent time to list them at the moment...but ultimately...the language barrier would be too much for me,sure theres the issue of "the international language" being universally understood,but i value communication,and ...words are important to me...it would be a barrier that would sadden me no matter how beautiful she was...hard to ...connect on some levels.

and..the miscommunications leading to offense are bad enouhg with the american women,i can only imagine how id unintentionally offend ukrainian or russian women,lol... so that final issue of communication kept me from pursuing the idea.

Ok guys, I have to ask the obvious question- wouldn't a huge concern be, "is it love..or immigration?"---no doubt there really, truly are women over there, and elsewhere, who are looking for love, and want that- but you hear a load of stories about women (the Russian ones, lately-)who will go out and have the uber-professional pics taken, dress to the nines, and their criteria a lot of the time is extremely open, and by "open", I mean that they will take someone from a young age, to wayyyy up there---and then you hear these little horror stories about an American (or Brit, etc.) marrying a Russian girl, taking her back to his home country, all is well..UNTIL...she is able to actually have her green card/citizenship, whatever, and then (as the Spanish say..) she "vaminos's", lol. Doesn't it scare you guys to think that maybe someone is faking their feelings, in order to meet the goal of getting out of their particular country, to what they "think" is a better one?

as must as i hate to agree with webcam , in the past lots of russian or Ukraine women have come to USA got married to an American. then just left. i have an friend who was married to an ukrainian women for 6 years one day he woke up and she was gone. all i can say is. if you take this route to find love. be very careful.

I have two stories on this matter, yes the topic that started it all. I have 2 friends, both married ladies from the former Soviet Union. One still is married, one isn't They both said the same thing, if the women that you bring over don't have a social group that they can deal with of their own people, they become lost or bored and usually move back home. I know for a fact that, the one still married, sends his wife back "home" twice a year and has her hooked up in the Ukrainian society here and she is very happy. So, take from that what you will, there will always be culture shock and they do seem to like a lot of gifts as western men are finacially better off in their eyes. JMHO

and..when it comes to love...i believe it is better as a verb,than a noun,something grown into,than something stepped or fallen in,not to deny chemistry of course...i know this will shock people...but i actually think arranged marriages were a good thing historicly,and that they prove my point(prepares self for a barrage of assault from people with more modern views)for the few cons of out of country brides,i can think of hundreds of pros...at least in my case...but as i said..i havent pursued it.

I know a huge amount of "russian ladies" on free sites such as these ARE in fact scammers..likely dudes, mobbed up. They rake in the $ off unsuspecting ppl on the netz, just as the nigerians do...hell, nigeria actually has schools teaching the fine art of the internet scam. So beware, and if you are serious about looking for love abroad , be sure to just go to a reputable agency.

I am russian, live in Moscow. You are right and wrong. We have lots of ads written by mob, who are after your money. So NEVER send any woman money, I mean - never believe that we are so poor that we don't have money to pay for tickets or else. We have lots of really nice women, well-educated, hard working, patient.. Be careful and cautios but never scary and you will find a real treasure.

I go along with what Shy posted. At least with regards to those women who may have been honest. Next to New York I'm probably in the most "former USSR" area in the country. (Baltimore/DC)

I am russian and end up here because I look for serious relationship.

Women in Russia want to have family like everywhere else.There are a lot more women than men in Russia.If you are woman after 30th y.o. there are almost no chance you can find someone for serious relationship or marriage.

There's nothing wrong with that, Genya, unfortunately though there are a LOT of Russian "scammers" on this site (they are almost always 28 years old, lol)--so for legitimate Russian women trying to actually find a serious relationship, it isn't going to be too easy, because everyone will always be suspicious- that, and the fact that a lot of the men wonder if it's really them that the women want, or just to move out of Russia- no offense, really- I'm sure there are good American guys who are legit as well, who would like to meet someone in another country- but be careful of the really skanky ones, the ones that nobody wants, I've heard things- in other words, don't lower your standards, and hang tough until a GOOD one comes along, lol.
