All of you sinners, REPENT...!
And let those who have never sinned cast the first stone!
Heathens, one and all... repent...!

Thanks robbi, I thought it might have been.

Not to trash this topic but I would be far more interested in knowing how people see god and relate or, if they have no god what they do believe in and why.
Otherwise it becomes a pep rally.
I wonder if the topic was started if people could be open and honest and if they could resist the temptation to ridicule others for being honest just because views are different. Nothing is more defeating in all ways than when you belittle something that moves people. The outcome is never pretty, spoken or unspoken.

First of all, I have respect for any path that leads us toward truth, and ALL paths to God have truth within them, and even intersect at some point. I'm not an avid Bible reader, but I do believe that religions tend to divide and separate, as opposed to God's love, unity, and oneness. I believe the Old Testament is very metaphorical in nature, grossly distorted at times, taken out of context, and has become nothing more than a weapon many use against one anoher. This being the case, it has become very supportive of the chaotic law that the "truth is different for everyone"...thus giving rise to the countless religions we experience today that can only seem to agree to disagree. And in the process of this, accomplish absolutely nothing. The New Testament I can sum up very easily, by simply saying in my opinion, that Jesus was a teacher of love.
My own persoanl beliefs? God is not a theory nor a statistic; God is an "experience." Heaven is not a place nor a condition, but rather, a state of mind. God is everywhere, in everyone, and in everything.....and we only need to look as far as ourselves to find Him. We don't need a temple, a building, a guru, or a middle man of any sorts to find Him and know Him; many simply choose NOT to find Him. Until we open ourselves up to the experience that IS God, and allow that experience to engulf, consume, and absorb us completely, again, we will accomplish nothing. God is all that is, and we are an extension of "All."
I could go on and on with this, but I don't want to wear out my welcome, so I'll shut up now. (-:

Beyond please talk some more I'd love to read it : )

Yes, it doesn't matter how you get there, just the same as God doesn't care what you call Him, as long as you call! (-: There are no labels, categories, etc., and God does not fit into a nice, neat, little box...like many would like to think. Our true essence is in spirit, and there ARE no limitations to spirit, and the Universe. When we deal with the physical world, physical laws apply. However, when we embark on a journey of truth, we are no longer dealing with the physical world, so different laws apply. Being unlimited beings, we need to allow the mind to expand and take in new input, without the preconcived notions and thoughts that keep us contained in our little "boxes." The truth in itself is simple, just as it was created to be. We complicate it, just as the world complicates everything. We have countless theories for everything that goes on in our lives and in this world, but yet we have no answer. We analyze everything to death, and still have no answer. We've complicated everything so much that we've obscured the simple truth. All the theories and words in the world will not bring the answer. All the bickering and fighting about who's right, only complicate the issues more. Theories in themselves however are not the problem, but rather what man does with them that creates the confusion. They are used as defense mechanisms to "protect" one, and attack vessels to disprove another. And when all is said and done, what have you gained through this type of behavior? Absolutely nothing! Unless the theory is accompanied by means of a practical application that can bring the experience, and most importantly, you open your mind to another viewpoint that will enable the experience to come to you, words and theories become utterly useless.
So, what is the experience? Is it unconditional love as you mentioned? Yes it is....and much more! It's a culmination of different levels of consciousness that simply can't be defined in words. Believe me, I've tried to define it many times, but it just doesn't work! lol If I tell you what a fun and wild time it was to ride the roller coaster, you may believe me, but until you ride it for yourself and own the experience, it's just words. See what I mean? (-:
Well, I better control myself and stop there! lol Again, these are my beliefs and what I've found to be true, and experience everyday. I would not trade it for anything, because there is nothing that can remotely compare! Again, we all have our own thoughts and beliefs, and I'm simply sharing mine, as requested. (-: Have a great day!

Robbi...it's nice to meet you. If I may expand a bit.....the world is run by thoughts and ideas. The more we share, the more powerful they become, thus expanding into the limitlessness of the universe. This is why everything begins and ends with a thought....and why "thought provoking" is so good. (-: What we think about expands within the mind, and becomes the days of our lives and the world we see. And since all minds are "one" in truth, this is how we effect change. (-: It's like you said in your profile, "Sometimes the things you search all over the world for are right in your own back yard." The same is true here. Everything we need is within us right now; we just need to choose recognize it. (-:
It's nice to meet all of you, and receive such a warm welcome as well! I'll admit I was a bit hesitant to post at first, but you've all made this a very enjoyable experience! Thanks, and have a great day!
