ok..i have the bad habit of leaving batteries in maglights too long, and ruining them due to battery leakage jamming -corrodign the batteries to the inner tube of the maglihgt, theyre good lights, hate to keep ruining them, and keep sending them back to factory for my own stupidity,so...what deals with..or removes the battery acid from inner tube so i can use flash light again with new batteries?? something alkaline? anybody know??

I was just gonna say the same thing Mystic. The old style car batteries had verticle top side posts and it was a common practice to do some baking soda maintenance every now and again.

ok..tried rubbing alcohol and scrubbing, still cant get the inner battery out,got the outer one out,let alcohol soak a few minutes, last battery still wont budge, and i cant punch it out on the minimags,i then tried peroxide soaking and scrubbbing, few minutes, same thing, now ive filled the tube with bleach, maybe it will break it loose, beating the light to death to get it out,...its just beating up my light.
ty myst...i thouhgt i had some baking soda in the fridge,i guess i must have lost it in the divorce,lol...ill get some tommmorow when store opens

Hey Adam, If ya manage to get it cleaned out, or even if ya have to buy a new one, cote the connectors with white lithium grease, I use that stuff on all my electrical components that require batteries, even use it on my Vehicles, will prevent that from happening if the batteries leak.

ya Rep. The grease reduces the probability of oxidation, which is the root cause. Vasiline also works, but I suspect the lithium would be more durable.

The lithium is a better conductor for the electrical parts versus the Vaseline.

You can also buy silicone-based dielectric grease from auto parts stores. Its used to inhibit corrosion on electrical contacts, limits voltage leakage and has the added benefit that it is water resistant.
I would stay away from bleach though Adam. . . it can accellerate corrosion. If you can get some, use tri-sodium phosphate and extremely hot water. . . it will neutralize acid and is a very good cleaner. Gunsmiths use it to degrease metal before bluing a gun.

Don't use the brown acid
