Relationships After A Breakup - (latest post)

I love to write, and in fact I am in the process of writing a manuscript for a novel so one would think writing a blog would be easy in comparison. However, when it comes to love and relationships it is anything but easy. We all look for different things in a relationship, and after we have been hurt in a relationship that we believed would last forever, it becomes even more difficult. We begin to doubt ourselves and wonder if we had done something different or just tried a little harder, we might still be involved in the relationship. It is at this time, we need to reflect on what just happened to us, and try to determine the real reason for the ending of a seemingly healthy relationship that we believed we were ready for, and ready to give our all too. The last thing we want to do is rush right into another relationship headlong without looking where we are leaping. All too often many of feel alone, and especially those who feel solely responsible for the breakup being vulnerable become involved with someone else without taking time out to reflect and smell the coffee. In most cases we end up right back where we started, depressed and alone. I have just recently separated from my wife of nearly 9 years, and although we broke up because of a lack of communication not infidelity, it is even more important that I take some time out to reflect before jumping headlong into another long term committment. That is why I tell people in my profile that I am merely looking for a casual relationship at this point, and nothing more. I know I don't want to marry again, and believe that I can have a healthy relationship with a woman without a piece of paper. As long as it is with someone who will communicate their feelings and thoughts openly and freely, there is no reason for the relationship not to last. Remember a piece of paper only makes it legal, it does not guarantee it is forever.
